The proposal ts the installation of three new sipn strudurrs in addition to maintaining the exisUng signage located on the south side of the building. The new signage would axceed the allowable sign area and also indude some electronic messafling which is not typically pertnitted by the City's Sign Ordinance. The signs would be bcated on tha eastem bullding fapade abuttin9 Wetmota Avenue and on the northem building faqade abutUng Everett Avenue. SecGon 36.210 of the City's Zonfng Code allows for an applicadon to be made to the Planning Diredo� tor special consideretion whereby deviafi�ns trom the typicel sign requirements and rosMction^ may be permitted when en applicant proposes a Comprehensive Design Plan o integrate signs into the framework of the building a' buildings, landscaping, and other design features of the property, utllizinp an overall design theme, The Planning Diroctor, using Review Process II, shall eveluate the proposal based upon the fotlowfng criteria: 1. It is a public fadllty providing daytime and evening lnfortnationel and entertafnment venues for Everott and sumounding area citizens. It serves as a cultural attraction to the downtown area and has been designed as a community focal point through the use of unique and dramadc archltecturo. The building is very unique in Ns design and dces not roflect the typical buildtng profila consisting of four basic"box style'facades. The eastem far,ade of the building along Wettnore Avenue consfsts of four distinct wall sectfons. Three of the wall sectlons are flat box style facades and the fouRh wall sectbn is a large wrved faqade near the cenMr of Uie overall building. Each of the wall sections Is made dlstinctive by use of veried heights, depths and other architectual separation features. The northem faqede consists of Nvo box style wall sections separdted by a depth of approxlmately 40 teet. Two signs are proposed for the eastern buflding faqade. The ftrst is the main identificatior sign for the building titled "EVERETT PERFORMING ARTS CENTER" I measuring approximately 200 square feet in area. This sign would be located on the large curved fagade near the center of the bullding. It ts a onaslded custom curved � shape sign cahinet that will follow tha curve of the building. In add(tion to matching the curved fapade, the top and bottom oi the sifln cabinet have been designed to accent the curved roofl(ne of this wall section along the eastem facade. . �; � y
