July 23, 7.009 Mr. Shawn Hughes Building owner 2815 Wetmore Avenue Everett, WA 98201 Re: New ordinance effective September 1, 2009 Dear building owner and;or tenant(s), On June 10, 2009, the Everett City Council adopted Ordinance 3127-09, regulating exterior building minimum maintenance and street-level vacant commercial space in the Central Business District (CBD). The intent of the ordinance is to help protect the downtown streetscape and encourage economic develcpment in one of the City's important retail and business centers. This ordinance establishes minimum maintenance requirements for slructures in the CBD in an effort to keep the streetscape vibrant and attractive. The ordinance becomes effective September 1, 2009. A full copy of the ordinance is enclosed with this leller. An additional letter will be sent in August regarding compliance with this ordinance and how we can best support you in that effort.
