IIecause of the existing railing, mailboxes,
light standards, etc., this is one of the
narrowest sections of sidewalk in the down-
town.
2. The design standard beng used for the down-
town is eight feet of unobstructed width on side-
walks. The existing sidewalk is 6.5 feet to the
curb. With e:cistin5 obstructions, passable width
is probably 5.5 feet. The planter boxes would
reduce this to 4.5 feet or less.
S9hile we applaud Mr. Printz' desire to contribute to the beau-
tification of the downtown, this is one of the few locations
that could not practically accommodate sidewallc obstrcctiors.
ICra,E,
.Z zd o r Prntz , o%,:,.r.J 'v
S/f*a// oN tJi//c l?C csP.rSJoO%• G /S H.G
/'e►sions oH h:s -f/ic.t.`isn 6y a-9r...:
P/aC ¢(An ft.- 6 DiC-eS or/y atac `i'a !%i s Sc+G
So i'f wi// ia2 c%Pt{' Sr'c'cytS e%S¢ fi.°-?i
cwrb. G1irun+ •t.f. 6.•7`K.e., rai%i' K.ew cist'
qd /iqtPoit .'s 7•s f7`oi u:dtG. ,(`'`k,,eea plas,
and ccr6 is g f`•

/P S
