The use of 99.5 square feet per person as indicated in their Item 3 is a very 1( i
efficient use of private rental space. By contrast the City Hall has (0
approximately 185 square feet per person.
2. The developers have to recognize that the alley access to this building is
available only from Wall Street. The alley between the theatre and the bank
building has been closed to through traffic and the sidewalk treatment on
Colby does not allow extensive vehicular traffic over it.
3. 1 have been contacted by one of the draftsmen for the building architect and
talked about the use of aggregate concrete for sidewalk surface meeting
City specifications on non-skid standards. I also suggested the possibility of
street trees that could be located in the sidewalk that would be compatible
with Colby Avenue and the City Hall landscaping (see attached letter).
4. The use of bronzed glazing in the building will make a very drab outlook for
City Hall but that is not an item I think we can control. It would have been
nice if they had used the gold colored glare resistive glass. You might use
your good offices to influence them along this line if they are so disposed.
