See Distributior
Celia Strong S I
Ma _12,--19D—
/
Wall Street F3uildig
_——
We may have to all get our heads together on tliis one.
Currently, there are no codes regulating attended parking; and the existing codes
seem rather restrictive inasmuch as the parking being provided is being provided
to comply with S.E.P.A. rather than parking cods.
If the City retains a bond in the amount of about $30,000 to guarantee final compliance
with the Negative Declaration on parking, I can see no particular problems with
their request except that the final stages, involving attended parking do not comply
with areas required for parking spaces. (But the code was not written to reflect
attended parkin situations).
if we can avoid opening "Pandora's Box", I'd like to get an Attended ParkinQ Ordinance
adopted to cover this situation. But I fear that starting a new parking ordinance
will rekindle a number of wish lists we all have stored away on the whole parking
issue.
ALTERNATIVE
If acceptable to Drad, we could just not apply tle code, on the basis that it only
covers parking spaces that are required by code. Since none of these spaces are
required by code, we would be "home free". Only problem is that the code says
all parking spaces.
Your comrrients would be very much appreciated before May 20, 1980.
