July 23, 2009 <br />Mr. Paul McKee, City of Everett <br />Building owner <br />3200 Cedar Street, 2nd floor <br />Everett, WA 98201 <br />Re: New ordinance effective September 1, 2009 <br />Dear building owner and/or lenant(s), <br />On June 10, 2009, the Everett City Council adapted Ordinance 3127-09, regulating <br />exterior building minimum maintenance and street -level vacant commercial space in the <br />Central Business District (CBD). <br />The intent of the ordinance is to help protect the downtown streetscape and encourage <br />economic development in one of the City's important retail and business centers. This <br />ordinance establishes minimum maintenance requirements for structures in the CBD in <br />an effort to keep the streetscape vibrant and attractive. <br />The ordinance becomes effective September 1, 2009. A full copy of the ordinance is <br />enclosed with this letter. An additional letter will be sent in August regarding compliance <br />with this ordinance and how we can best support you in that effort. <br />If you would prefer that we e-mail future correspondence to you, please contact Meg <br />Haley, who will be assisting me with the administration of this ordinance.
