Findina: The property consists of two buildinqs on a
' 6,000 square foot lot both owned by the Snohomish
, County-Camano Board of Realtors. Both buildings were con-
structed as sinqle family residences in the early 1900's.
1710 32nd Street: This structure was constructed as a
single family residence and there are no bui.iding permits
in file to indicate when the number of dwelling units was
increased. Senator Vognild began using the garage as of-
fice space when he was a resident in the building in the
early 1980's and has continued to use the spa::e for his
office since he moved out of the residential unit.
3201 Wetmore: This structure was constructed as a single
family residence and used as such until purchased by
Snohomish County-Camano Board of Realtors in November of
1986, after which they began to use it as an office.
Snohomish County-Camano Bosrd of Realtors applied for a
business license in February 1987 and at that time they
were informed that they would need to obtain a Use Permit
since the use was permitted in the zone but the building
was constructed as a single family residence.
A Use Permit is required by the City when a proposed use
is a permitted use in the zone but the building was con-
structed for residential purposes. The reason for this
requirement is that the residential uses have a much lower
parking requirement than a commercial use and because a
residential structure may not meet IIniform Building Code
