These comments address building issues only. additional revisions or additions <br />may be required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All <br />references refer to the 1997 Uniform Building Code, as amended by the State of <br />Washington and/or Washington State Energy Code 1997 Edition, unless stated <br />otherwise. <br />In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to <br />provide the Building Division with two complete new sets of drawings reflecting the <br />corrections requested. <br />1. An automatic fire suppression system is required per UBC 904.2.9 and City <br />Ordinance 1902-92. The plans should indicate this requirement. <br />2. A monitored fire detection system is required per City Ordinance 1902-92. The <br />plans should indicate this requirement. <br />3. One -hour fire -resistive construction is required throughout per UBC 310.2.2. <br />This includes. all floor/ceiling, ceiling/roof, and exterior wall assemblies. <br />Provide the testing agency identification number and description of each. One - <br />hour fire -resistive construction is also required for the eaves on the right and left <br />sides per UBC 705. Please provide a detail. <br />4. One -hour occupancy separations are required at walls, doors, and Floor/ceilings <br />separating the apartments from the garages. UBC 302.1. <br />The plans should include the requirement for fire dampers at all locations where <br />fans penetrate one -hour floor/ceiling assemblies.
