'Phe roof has a pitch of 4s12 and hip jacks consist of 2"x8" <br />pg �2 spaced at 24" o.c. and the hip is a 2"x10" DF i2. <br />Tr.e roofs of both the house and addition are supported by a new <br />4"x12" DF �1 beam which spans the width of the new addition. <br />The horizontal shear stress of the 4"x12" is within the allowable. <br />The end connections for the 4"x12" beam are shown in DEtail #2, and <br />are adequatp. <br />The hip is supported at the ridge with a 4"x4" post which rests on <br />a(3)-2"x10" DF M2 laminated beam.
