A connection is required from existing foundation to new foundation for the interior
foundation.
Use (2) #4 bars at stem wall and (2) #4 bars at footing, centered and equally spaced
with no less than 3" from any edge. The rebar should be embedded 3" minimum to
existing foundation with SET epoxy and should be embedded 12" into new foundation.
2. An STHD14 was locared in the wrong place.
Any STHD14/14RJ holdown may be retrofit using HDQB-SDS3 holdown with 7/8"
threaded rod to top of stem embedded 6" minimum with SET epoxy.
3. The RSW foundation was poured in the wrong location to the reversed plan used.
It is intended to eliminate the need for raised shear walls in this structure. The result is
the remaining shear wall is to be built per SW-3 REVISED. Please see the attached
revised shear wall schedule for the new SW-3 specifications. Also an HDQ8-SDS3
retrofit holdown, as described in item 2 above must be installed at each end of the new
SW-3.
Should there be any questions or comments please contact our oce.
Sincere

Andrew Gahan, PE
OB-542 (amg) Lelter 0810
