( STORMWATER SITG PLAN MAY 26, 2006
MADISON COMtUNI7l' CHURCH PAGE 20
I
Storm Drain Inlet Protection
1 For systems using filter fabric: inspections should be made on a regular basis, especially after
large storm events. If the fabric becomes clogged, it should be replaced. if a fabric bag insert is
used, sediment should be removed vhen it fills approximatcly one half of the storage dcpth. For
systems using stonc filtcrs, if thc stone becomes clogged with seiment, the stones must be
pulled away from thc inlct and dcanal or replaced. Since cleaning of gravel at a cons;ruction sitc
may be difficult, an altemative approach would be to use the clogged stone as fill and put fresh
( :,tone around the inlet.
Temporary Sediment Pond (or Basin)
I Inspections should be madc regularly, especially atler large stonn events. Sediment should he
rcmoved when it fills one half of the pond's total sediment storagc area. The effectiveness of a
sediment pond is based Iess on its sizc than on regular sediment removal. The riser of oerflow
Ishall be inspecteci at the same interval as the pond and cleared of any debris or sediment build up.
STORM DRAIN SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
Gencral:
I I.
