c • <br />C��./ �auKc, I ��I KN�p� <br />s�t�� z3, i�s <br />1• �� .• ♦ �\ � \/ � �� � \ � i • \�� i•��%H�\/\�JA�1 <br />Presidept Aoderson opened a public haring rc8udiu8 a Proposed reaolution <br />authoriiing the demoli6on ud clearing of the buildings located at 3229A and <br />3229B Wetmore Avernu. <br />President Anderson invited public wmment. <br />Moved by Coundlmanber Pope, seconded by Coundimember Campbdl W <br />close the public hear(ng. <br />Laura Van Slyck, Director of Code Compliance, presented a brief background <br />on tLe buildings proposed for demolition and tl�e previous acdons taken. <br />Cowxilmember Overstroet questioned w6ether the owners had made any <br />attempt to obtain the demolition permits. <br />Laura Van Slyck respooded that one of the owners had been in contact with the <br />Building Dtparm�ent in July, the process had been t6rough SEPA, but that the <br />mo�y for the permit was never meived. <br />Councilmember Pope quesdoned whether the City would roceive interest on <br />their money if a lien wac filed against the Propecty for the demolition. <br />Laura stated that an itemized report would be prepued for the Ciry Council <br />which would include any and all ozpenses inc�rred by the City Crom tLe time <br />formal abatement began. After the City Council accepcs dx reporc, rt will either <br />be copxted bp the City Attorney as a personal obligatiun against �',e owners or <br />it will be fited as an assessment against the property. Interest would accrue in <br />either case, <br />President Anderson disclosed his acquaintance with one of the owners of the <br />properry.
