One set of photographs is submitted !
with the reporta. This report presents the findings with respect
to a slope etability atudyr as outlined in our proposal dated
April 8 1583 and your notice to proceed dated April 29 1983•
The purpose of thie stiudy is to determine information relative ,
to slope stability, potential instability and mitigating measures
which could be used to reduce the rate of future sliding and j
ero3ion within the area of Shore Avenue. Four borings were
i
performed along Shore Avenue.
Our study indicated that the slope area north of Shore Avenue
is relatively etable, with areas of local instability. The
unstable areas were found to be predomantly surficial in nature.
The maor causes for the observed Pailures appear to be rubbish
and fill placement over the top-of'-slope. changes in geologic i
strata and surface erosion. Geologically, the slope area is '
underlain by Double Bluff Drift, Whidbey Formation interglacial
depucits and a thin covering of Vashon Glacial deposits.
