PUBL/C //ORKS
)une 1, 2012
Telly Q. Taja
3531 Short Street
Everett WA 98201
Subject: Project: Taja
Job Address: 3531 Short Street
Plan Check No: B1109-008
Dear Mr. Taja:
In response to your application for a construction permit, your pans have been examined and
you are advised that the issuance of a permit is being withheld for the reasons listed below.
These comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be
required by other departments (such as Utilities, Planning or Fire). All references refer to the
(2009 International Building Code,) (2009 International Residentiai Code,) as amended by the
State of Washington and/or Washington State Ener,y Code 2009 Edition, and adopted by the
City of Everett, unless stated otherwise.
I order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary to
provide the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting the
corrediort_: equested.
1. The site plan submitted does not show the actual site conditions that currently exist on
this property. Revise site pian to reflect all current structures, driveway and proposed
covered deck.
2. The cross section on sheet S-2 shows the existing house with the same pitch as the
proposed covered deck. The existing roof has a much lower pitch than the proposed
covered deck. In fact, the proposed covered deck roovill extend above the existing
roof.
3. A site visit revealed that there is a fireplace located on the south side of the house that
tivould not allow the covered deck to be built as proposed in the constr:ction drawings
submied. Revise drawings to reflect construction around the existing fireplace.
9. The Simpson LSTA24 shown to tie the proposed structure to the existing residence
cannot attach to the fireplace on the west side and is perpendicular to the framing on
the east side.
CITY OF EVERETT • 3200 Cedar Street • cverett, WA 98201 • (425) 257-8800 • Fax (425) 257-8682
