r
rULrn 2 boundary near thc northcm proxrty linc. Thc souih ditch originatcs on Lot 3 and cnlcn thc
site near the tniddle of the castcm property boundary. A third smallcr ditch is locatcd alon thc
west side of Lot I and flows south to thc pond. Standine waer +as obscrvcd in tlic nd and
within the lower cnds of thc hvo wcstem drainage ditclrcs. A I'_-inch-diamccr corrugaled
drainpipe is located north of lhe slortnwater pond and discharges uter to the est and aff thc tiilc.
No appreciable ponded waeras obsencd in tlic ditch orieinating frotn Lot 3.
Tlie ground surfacc a1 the site is generally devaid of•egctation ith rclativcly fc wecds and
..
small shrubs scattered across ihe sile.
3.2 SITE GEOLOGY
r Prior to mining by CSR Associated, geologic maps for the Mountain Vicw Dusiness Ccntcr
indicated diat thc surficial soils consist of Vashon glacial till. Glacial till qpically consists of a vcry
1 compact, poorly sorted, nonstratificd miturc of clay, silt, sand, gravel and cobbles. Unweathered
glacial till typically appears gray or blue on a fresh surface, while weathercd glacial till may be
bron to ycllow in mloc Glacial till is knon locally as "hardpan' and ranges from about 10 to
100 feet diick in the viciniry of CSR Associated's properry. Based on our knowledge of the sile,we
expec[ tha[ the native glacial till was complelely removed from Lots 1 and 2 during mining
ac[iities to expose the underlying sand and gravcl resources.
Glacial advance ouhvash deposits underlie the elecial till at the site and may be?00 to 300 feet
thick. Advance ouhvash generally consisting of sand or sand and gra•el •as mapped outcropping
at the surface along the north side of CSR's property. Based on our pre•ious site work, we found
that advance outwash sand and gravel soils +ere present on the site prior to filling. The sand and
gravel was erposed in the old pit bottom at about Elevations 405 to 41> feet alonF the southern
 portion ofthe site.
Transitional Bed deposits underlie the advance ouhvash and may be about 150 feet thick at the
r site. Transitional bed deposits generally consist of glacially consolidated silt and clay and are
considered an aquitard. We anticipate the upper surface of the Transitional Bed deposits is at about
Eleation 150 to 200 feet.
 Gcologic infomiation was obtained from:
• Thomas, B.E., Wilkinson, J.M., and Embrey, S.S.
