The City's surveyor has completed survey work <br /> aramd Silver Lake, so the Public Works Department will now be evaluating altematives for <br /> controlling Silver Lake's water levet. <br /> Two of the alternatives involve increasing the capacity of the lake oudet and flood proofing <br /> affected lakefront properties. However, it is important to tecognize that controlling Siiver Lake <br /> water tevels will require muldple partners and funding sources; ic is not the City af Everett's job <br /> alo�. The fact that this issue is so complez and multi-dimensional has made it all the more <br /> difficult and time�consuming. But cleazly the City is interested in helping to develop the most <br /> effective and affordable solution for reducing the flooding pocential of lakefront properties. <br /> I anticipate that the process of evaluating alcernatives will take two months or more, and when the <br /> evaiaati�n is completed, a copy of the report detailing these altemadves will be available to you. <br /> If you have eny questions regarding this matter or anything else con�:erning Silver Lake, please feel <br /> free to cantact me at 259-8855.
