It was agreed that the following action wouid be taken:
1. The contractor will excavate and place a trench box next to the manhole inside the LS site and expose the pipe stub
(existing 12-inch diame.:er concrete)that goes NW down the driveway. Ha will dewater the hole as necessary for city
access.
2. The contractor will do potholes and attempt to find the limits of the existing concrete thrust block on the 20-inch diameter
forcemain nearest the street.
3. The City will inspect the exterior condition of the pipe(probably Friday)and its connection to the manhole. The City will
break out the mortar plug and prepare the line for CCN inspection of the pipe.
4. The City will perform a CCN inspection of the pipe (next week), assess the condition and determine the approximate
location of the stub end near the street.
5. If repairs on the pipe are needed, the City wili do that(next week).
6. With more accurate location in(ormation for the pipe stub and thrust block, the contractor and his engineer will
determine if changes to the sewer alignment are necessary to avoid conflicts with the thrust block. Similarly, some
changes to the pipe grade will be necessary to connect to the existing stiib.
7. The contractor will be off this site for a week or more which allows time tor the City to per(o;n the above tasks.
8 The contractor has already sawcut Silver Way for the sewer trench and is commiKd to the alignment per plans.
Those are the main points as I currently understand them.
Let me know if I missed anything.
Thanks
Dave
DavidVoigf, P.E.
SeniorEngi;ieer, Projecl Manager
City ol Eveietl, Public Works
Phone 425-257•8983
Faz:425-257-8882
[mail:dvoigt(ilci.everett.wa.us
1
