I explainej
that i felt an exception would be in order in this case since the City
has constructed a 2" copper "distribution" line in this area to ease
the installation of PRVs on aeveral services which were close
toqether. Since one mnre connection to th 2" copper line would not
. additionally ipact the #5 line we could reasonably grant an exception
j in this unique case. The others present concurred.
i
The Council members felt that the circumstances justified the I
1 'j recoamendation to allow the new connection to the 2" copper line under
' " a regulatory interpretation of the ordinance by the Utilities I
, Superintendent.
(. This memorandum is documentation that such connections to
°distribution lines" connected to transmissfon lines are exempt from
the requirement for new services to serve at least l0 customers. This I
does not impose any requirement on the City to construct distribution '
systems outaide the City except when deemed in the City's best
interest by the Utilities Superintendent.

 cc: Tom Thetford j
1(
'- a '?' pl '' :
uo. 2592PACE 10 i•
