Minimum Requirc�ents for ESC Training and CcrHfication Courses <br />Gcncral Rcquirements <br />Thc caursc shall tcach thc construction stortmvatcr pollution prcvcntion guidancc <br />provided in thc most recent ��ersinn of: <br />a. Thc Washington Statc Dcpt. of Gcology Stormwatcr Managcmcm Manual for <br />We,tcm \1'ashington, <br />b. Cthcr cqui�•alcnt stomnvarer managcmcnt manuals approveJ by Lcology. <br />2. Upon complction of coursc, cach attcndcc shall rcccivc documcntalion of ccrtificauon, <br />including, at n minimum, a wallct-sized card that ccrtifics complction of thc coursc. <br />Ccrtification shall rcmain valid for thrcc ycars. Rcccrtification may bc obtaincd by <br />completing the 8-hour reGesher course or hy taking the initial I6-hour tr.+ining course <br />again. <br />3. The initial certification course shall be a minimum of IG hours (�vith a reasonable timc <br />�Ilo���ancc for lunch, brcaks, and tr.ivcl to and from 6cld) and includc a ficld clemcnt and <br />tcst. <br />a. The ficld clement must familiarire studcnts with thc proper installation, <br />maintenancc nnd inspcction of common crosion anJ scdimcnt control E3MPs <br />including, but not limitcd to, blankcts, chcck dams, silt fcncc, straw mulch, <br />plastic, anA sccding. <br />b. Thc tcst shall bc opcn boak and a passing scorc is not rcquircd for ccrtification. <br />Upon completion of the test, the cotrect answers shall be provided and discussed. <br />4. The refresher course shall be a minimum of 8 hours and includc a test. <br />a. 1'he rcfieshcr coursc shall include: <br />i. Applic�blc updates to the Srormµ�nter Management Manual that is uscd to <br />tcach lhc coursc, including ncw or updatcd BMPs; and <br />ii. Applicablc ch�ngcs to thc NPDfS Gcncnl Pcrtnit tor Construction <br />Activitics. <br />h. The rc(resher course test shall be open hook and a passing scorc is not required <br />for ccrtification. Upon complc�ion of thc tcst, thc corrcct answcrs shall bc <br />providcd and discussed. <br />c.
