P.S.
2931 Rockefeller Avenue c,v oF
Everett, WA 98201 everett
..v-s-a
Subject: Everreen Terrace (P.R.D.) - W.O. /f 1288-5 ,,, ,,, ..t„e,,,
4404 ,4402) Terrace Drive - Performnce bond No. W801338 .,, w...or
oeaoi
D^ar Mr. Perlman:
Per your 12-22-81 request, the following inforriation is given in addition to our
letter dated 12-16-81 to specify the unacceptability of the rolled curb recently
constructed.
The rolled curb/gutter is non-uniform in section and does not conform to
City Standard drawing 8-26 (previously transmitted). The curb section
constructed has a flat section of about 3 inches on top of the curb before it
descends, whereas the City Standard Section immediately begins to tapor
down from the top.
• The curb section constructed has no rolled transition or ramp to it at all.
Note the attached sketch showing the existing section put on an expanded
curb section of Standard Plan B-26.
If one places a car wheel directly against the curb, there is no raising of
the vetricle, whereas, in the normal section thc car begins to "roll" up the
curb.
A car approaching at a normal speed of 5 mph from the street will bounce
vertically before it can make the ascent.
* A straight edge placed on the steepest indine of the constructed curb
makes an angle of approximately 60 degrees from horizontal, whereas the
standard section similarly measured would make a 30 degree angle from
horizontal.
Since this curb is cause for car damage and injury, we require that your client or
his contractor construct the driveway apron per our letter dated 12-16-81 by
January 19, 1982 or we will have to proceed against the above-noted
Perform ance Dond. Notice for inspection should be given to this office (phone
259-8811) 48 hours prior to said construction.
i , 5 r,.i''I ld ,
6 • ` ' 'J
 /V
.0 V Cr d, i . _
_ A+ h l' 1 .
V
:;i' c. ,.
4 4 ,- ..
ah r'
,

1. _
