To summarize the issues raised
at that meeting:
1. Monte Cristo Hall currently exceeds the allowable floor
area for a Type V - one hour building of A-3 occupancy.
It is legally occupied as a pre e:;isting condition.
2. The maority of this proect is an interior remodel with
some new doors and windows, with no change in occupancy
or construction type. The e;:ceptien being a 3n0 S.F.
ddition on the North side.
3. It is the poition of the Huilding Depar-tment tht this
addition increases the area of a nonconforming use,
thereby eopardizing the continuation of the occupancy.
To resolve this and in light of the fact that I cannot laim an
area increase due to separation, I am proposing the following;
1. If the budget allows the Owner is committed to fully
sprinkler the entire first floor of the building with a
"stub-up" for futur remodeling of the second floor per
U. B.G. section 506 (c) (Did Filternste No. l)
. If funding is inadequate for option #1 we shall provide
a 2 hour area separation wall between the addition and
the e::isting structure per U. P. C. 5etion SCI.i (e) .
We request that the final decision on this he delayed until after
the Eid pening at which time we will either accept Alternate No.
1 or issue an addendum to incorporate option tt2 listed a6ove.
112 Flfirl 1;,'n',1P NO(trl
Sffla, 1shrf,, k;9 206 41-1030
