September 4, 2013 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 6:30 p.m., September 4, 2013, in the City Council Chambers of the <br /> Everett City Hall, President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found <br /> that Mayor Stephanson and Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, <br /> Bader, Stonecipher and Affholter were present. Council Member Gipson <br /> was excused. <br /> President Moore led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the August 28, 2013, City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. Council Member Affholter abstained from the vote. <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Stephanson introduced Fire Chief Murray Gordon, who presented <br /> a special award to Fire Captain Dave DeMarco for his recent completion <br /> of the rigorous Executive Fire Officer program through the National Fire <br /> Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. <br /> The Mayor also announced that Public Works Director Dave Davis would <br /> be providing under the Council Briefing Agenda, an overview of the City's <br /> findings over the last week regarding the recent rain storm. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Stonecipher congratulated Dave DeMarco and the <br /> Everett Fire Department for their excellent work and willingness to expand <br /> employee training. <br /> Council Member Roberts reported on a Sound Transit ST3 alignment <br /> meeting that was held today. He thanked the Mayor and city departments <br /> for their support and commitment. He also commented on changes in the <br /> nature of storm events and expressed interest in available data. <br /> 238 <br />
