The Police Department requests <br /> approval for the application for these grant funds and acceptance of the grant upon approval. The <br /> reimbursement rate is up to 50% of the cost of each new vest. The Police Department will utilize these funds <br /> to defray the costs of vest replacement through the term of the grant,which is from March 19, 2007, through <br /> March 19, 2009. <br /> Previous participation in the grant has resulted in approximately$50,000 being reimbursed to the City. <br /> RECOMMENDATION Authorize the Mayor to sign the application for the Bulletproof Vest Grant <br /> Partnership Program and to execute documents needed to accept the grant. <br /> ri <br />
