This property has been a <br /> community gathering space for many years and included a play structure, trellis and a gazebo. <br /> The property was added to Everett's park land inventory as part of amendment to the Comprehensive <br /> Plan, (Ordinance 2928-06) in 2006. <br /> Park staff inspected the existing play structure, and removed the structure in the fall of 2006. <br /> Council authorized a request for proposals for the replacement and installation of a new play structure <br /> on January 31, 2007. Parks staff has been working with the Northwest Neighborhood Organization to review <br /> the request for proposals from playground manufacturers. It is recommended that the RFP be awarded to Site <br /> Lines Park, in amount not to exceed of$77,905.83 plus Washington State Sales Tax. Additionally, the <br /> project will include Americans with Disabilities improvements. Including these improvements, contingency <br /> and sales tax, the total cost of the project is estimated to be$200,000. <br /> Staff requests funding in the amount of$200,000 from CIP III for the cost of the new play structure <br /> (including site preparation), installation of concrete curbing around the play structure, and construction of <br /> ADA accessibility improvements. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt the proposed ordinance creating a <br /> special improvement project entitled "Northwest Neighborhood Park Playground Replacement", Fund 354, <br /> Program 035, to accumulate all costs for the improvement project. <br /> 2� <br />
