The attached ordinance does the following: <br /> • Declares City's intent to incorporate "green" building practices in City projects and encourage the <br /> private sector to also embrace sustainable or low impact development practices <br /> • Establishes standard for new buildings over 5,000 square feet to seek LEED Silver certification <br /> • Requires use of cost effective green building practices for smaller projects, remodels or renovations <br /> • Encourages City to establish incentives for the private sector to use green building and low impact <br /> development practices <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt Ordinance establishing a sustainable <br /> building and infrastructure policy. <br /> I.
