Uniformly <br /> 4 compact the sloped portion of the HMA notched wedge joint. <br /> 5 <br /> I <br /> 6 On one-lane ramps a longitudinal joint may be constructed at the <br /> 7 center of the traffic lane, subject to approval by the Engineer, if: <br /> 8 <br /> I 9 1. The ramp must remain open to traffic, or <br /> 10 <br /> 11 2. The ramp is closed to traffic and a hot-lap joint is <br /> I 12 constructed. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 a. Two paving machines shall be used to construct the <br /> I 15 hot-lap joint. <br /> 16 <br /> 17 b. Saw the joint to the dimensions shown on <br /> 27 Standard Plan A-40.10 and fill with joint sealant meeting the <br /> I 28 requirements of Section 9-04.2. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 5-04.3(12)B Bridge Paving Joint Seals <br /> I 31 5-04.3(12)61 HMA Sawcut and Seal <br /> 32 Prior to placing HMA on the bridge deck, establish sawcut alignment <br /> 33 points at both ends of the bridge paving joint sealsto be placed at the <br /> 34 bridge ends, and at interior joints within the bridge deck when and <br /> I35 where shown in the Plans. Establish the sawcut alignment points in a <br /> 36 manner that they remain functional for use in aligning the sawcut after <br /> 37 placing the HMA overlay. <br /> I 38 <br /> 39 Submit a Type 1 Working Drawing consisting of the sealant <br /> 40 manufacturer's application procedure. <br /> I 41 <br /> 42 Construct the bridge paving joint seal as specified in the Plans and in <br /> 43 accordance with the detail shown in the Standard Plans. Construct <br /> I 44 the sawcut in accordance with Section 5-05.3(8).
