1. <br /> 1018.1.3 Basements. Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection <br /> 1018.2, every occupant in a basement shall have access to not less than <br /> two exits. <br /> Exceptions: <br /> 1. Two or more dwelling units in a basement may have access to only <br /> one exit where the total occupant load served by that exit does not <br /> exceed 10. <br /> 2. Except as provided in Table 1014.1, access to only one exit need <br /> be provided from a basement within an individual dwelling unit. <br /> 3. Basements used exclusively for the service of the building may <br /> have access to only one exit. For the purposes of this exception, <br /> storage rooms, laundry rooms, maintenance offices and similar <br /> uses shall not be considered as providing service to the building. <br /> Is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> AMENDMENTS TO THE IFC CHAPTER 10,MEANS OF EGRESS. <br /> A. Subsection 1019.1 of the IFC, entitled"Minimum number of exits,"is hereby <br /> amended by the addition of the following new subsection 1019.1.3: <br /> 1019.1.3 Basements. Subsection B 104.2 of the IFC, entitled "Area separation," is hereby deleted <br /> and the following inserted in its place: <br /> 236 23 <br />
