Our record plans from 1980 indicate that larger accessible stalls
were provided at the time for accessible type units in 1980, required per state law at the time.
We have determined that the original accessible parking spaces should be restored. Please
note that compliance with current federal laws may be more restrictive.
We have still not received two sets of drawings that meet the following requirements:
1. The number and location of eight accessible parking spaces should be restored to
the original permitted configuration, as per the plans dated August 15, 1980.
2. The original accessible spaces were 12'-6" wide by code and dimensioned on the
original plans. An 8 foot wide accessible parking space and adjacent 5 foot access
aisle (13 would also be allowed, per our attached e-mail dated December 11, 2013.
3. The original permitted accessible parking spaces should be marked with permanent
vertical signs, 60 inches minimum above the floor of the parking space, measured to
the bottom of the signs. The sign installation locations and method of attachment
should be dimensioned and shown in plan and elevation on the drawings.
If we have not received drawing revisions within 15 calendar days from the date of this letter,
we will forward this violation to Code Enforcement for resolution. You can reach me directly to
discuss this letter by e-mail at mhaley@everettwa.cLov or by phone at 425-257-8813.
Sinc
,-,
,
Meg Haley, Arhitect, NCARB
