• <br /> Section 15: Change to Sections 4.4, 4.8 and 7.5 <br /> Section 4.4 of the City Charter, which reads as follows: <br /> Appointive Officers. <br /> The appointive officers of the city shall include the Chief Administrative Assistant (if <br /> appointed), the City Attorney, the City Clerk, the City Treasurer, the Chief of <br /> Police, the City Engineer, the Fire Chief, the City Planner, the Superintendent of <br /> Parks and Recreations, and the department heads of all other departments <br /> established pursuant to this article and such other appointive officers as are <br /> established by ordinance. Except as otherwise provided in this charter, all appointive <br /> officers shall be appointed and removed by the mayor, and shall be responsible to <br /> the mayor. Such <br /> superintendent shall appoint under civil service laws and rules, supervise and control <br /> all employees in the department of parks and recreation, and he shall have such <br /> further powers and perform such other duties as may be prescribed by ordinance. <br /> The superintendent of parks and recreation shall be appointed by the mayor, subject <br /> to confirmation by a majority of the city council, for the term of four (4) years, and <br /> he may be removed by the mayor subject to like confirmation, and he shall be ex <br /> officio a member of the city planning commission, but he shall receive no <br /> compensation as such member. <br /> CHARTER AMENDMENT ORDINANCE Page 18 <br />
