The Cultural Commission has developed a proposal for artwork to be installed in the plaza overlook. The artwork will consist of six - 8 foot by 42 inch sections with posts and connecting bridges to form a safety barrier in place of the hedge and fencing that has been removed for the construction. The railings will be constructed of ornamental, hand forged,wrought iron that carries the theme of Everett's waterfront, Puget Sound environment and the historical and cultural elements of the neighborhood for the City of Everett. The railing will incorporate historical site-specific elements as well as provide for the safety of visitors at the overlook. The $21,000 cost of the artwork will be paid from Fund 112, created from one percent of building and construction costs set aside for the arts.
