Per the formula used by the Byrne Grant, <br /> $84,755.00 was the potential amount which the Police Department qualified for to purchase equipment and <br /> software to enhance public safety. On August 22, 2007, the Department of Justice notified the Police <br /> Department that the grant of$84,755.00 had been approved. There are no matching funds required by the <br /> Grant, and there is a four-year timeline to expend the funds. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor or his designee to sign the necessary documents to accept the 2007 Edward Byrne <br /> Memorial Justice Assistance Grant on behalf of the City of Everett. <br /> Ii <br />
