Train <br /> volunteers in assisting with minor cleaning jobs as part of their job assignment. <br /> Visitor Services <br /> 1. Provide excellent customer service to visitors with personal service and current and <br /> timely printed visitor information. <br /> 2. Ensure availability of up to date information, brochures and materials on happenings and <br /> tourism activities at the Everett VIC. Recruit and retain a volunteer in Inventory Specialist <br /> position at the Everett VIC. <br /> 3. Keep volunteer staff informed about current happenings as well as tourism and related <br /> news through monthly newsletter, faxing or posting information at VICs, and through <br /> availability of the Everett Herald newspaper. Set aside new brochures as they arrive to <br /> make sure volunteers are aware of all new resources. <br /> 4. Meet needs of visitors six days a week, excluding holidays(Thanksgiving, Christmas, and <br /> New Years Day). <br /> 5. Provide Internet access at the Everett VIC to expand our source for visitor information, <br /> with the home page set for the Everett Concierge website. <br /> Financial Management <br /> 1. Stay within established budget and making adjustments as necessary. <br /> 2. Apply for LTAC lodging grant funds from Everett. <br /> 3. Participate in government relations activities. <br /> 4. Communicate the importance of VIC activities in an annual summary to Everett City <br /> Council. <br /> 5. Actively participate in city and county strategic planning processes as they are <br /> established. <br /> Marketing & Promotion <br /> 1. Aggressively promote Everett and Snohomish County tourism businesses, communities <br /> and services to visitors through in-person referrals and display of marketing materials at <br /> all Vics. <br /> 2. Increase overnight stays in Everett and throughout Snohomish County by: <br /> • Providing visitors with Visitor Guides that lists area accommodations with <br /> reservation numbers and facility features. <br /> • Prominently displaying lodging facility promotional materials at VICs. <br /> • Educate volunteer staff about accommodations through visits, tours, newsletters, <br /> trainings and staff meetings. <br /> 3. Provide centralized drop-off site for marketing materials of Snohomish County <br /> communities and tourism businesses with complimentary distribution to all Everett and <br /> Snohomish County Tourism Bureau managed VICs as well as at city offices, libraries, RV <br /> Parks, museums, Chambers of Commerce and hotels. <br /> 4. Promote VIC locations on Everett Concierge and SCTB's web sites, visitor guide listing, <br /> and in mailings whenever possible.
