I want to serve on the City of Everett Diversity Advisory Board because I believe in order to have a welcoming and inclusive community there has to be diverse voices and perspectives at the table. I value putting people first,transparent communication,shared vision,multiple perspectives, integrity,teamwork,achievement,accountability and fun. I want to have a part in the changing culturally diverse landscape and the future of Everett. I want to bring my diverse experiences and leadership skills to the advisory board. I offer an open mind and the ability to champion change. I take the opportunity to seize new ways of thinking and working. I articulate and lead change. I have the talent to energize and motivate others with a clear,compelling picture of the future and I inspire and empower others to champion the change themselves. I have the ability to understand and look at multiple perspectives.Different cultural perceptions shape attitude and behavior that strongly impacts basic issues in our communities such as communication and multicultural styles. I am able to communicate across cultural lines and promote an environment of inclusiveness.
