Board(s)/Commission(s) of interest: Diversity Board Why do you want to serve on this board/commission? I served on the Mayor's Advisory since it's inception. I work with thousand of City of Everett residents every year through South Everett Neighborhood Center and Familias Unidas, two family support centers in Everett. Many of our participants come from diverse communities. They may be immigrants,Russian, Spanish, seniors,persons with disabilities, etc. Their needs are important and I am happy to be a part of bringing them and their needs to the focus of the city. Please provide background, experience, and qualifications that would assist you in serving on this board/commission: I have 18 years experience working with people of many cultures, religions, ages,abilities, and ideas. For the last 7.5 years I have been program manager for Familias Unidas and S. Everett Neighborhood Center,programs of Lutheran Community Services NW. These Everett based family support centers work with community members to help them access needed services, learn English&customs of the US, and become a part of the larger community. We also work with many folks who were born and raised in Everett, and see the center as great place to learn,volunteer and have fun. List past or present community involvement: I I serve on Snohomish County Human Services Council Board of Directors, Children's Trust Foundation Board, &am current chair of the Snohomish County Children's. Through the years I have served on a variety of boards, commission and committees all involved with making our community, our county and our state a better place for everyone to live.
