Grant contract :#E06-02 <br />GFDA#97.064 OJP. The, purpose of the grant funding is, to purchase and -distribute personal <br />protective,, chemical, biological and - radiological- detection quipment to local response <br />agencies. This equipment will provide law enforcement, fre and:emergency medical>services <br />.:and other emergency response agencies with. the proper equipment to perform defensive and , <br />offensive operations in a contaminated environment involving `Weapons :of Mass: <br />ass Destruction <br />(WMQ). Realistically, `successful response to a terrorist incident may require ' mutual aid <br />resources from all WM,D equipment recipient agencies in. Snohomish County., This equipment <br />is, considered part 'of the, mutual, aid :respurcesaVailable. under the mutual aid, agreements <br />already. in, place among law enforcement, fire; ' EMS and hazardous materials service:' <br />providers. <br />Attachment A' is the Distribution Agreement between your•agency and the bounty. <br />The federal funding also places property management responsibility upon this equipment.- <br />Attachment <br />quipment.Attachment B. provides .the Department of Justice. Property and' Equipment Post Award' <br />'Requirements, which .will become the responsibility ,of the final recipient of the equipment.. <br />Asa recipient "of federal funding, Snohomish County. made certain. assurances . to the <br />Washih ' on,8tate- Military' Department 'and the Department of �H'omeland Security in the.,grant, <br />application... Some of the assurances must, flow down to your juriediotion as well.
