We obscrved that thc sub�Rade was uver-excavatcd approximatcly 12 inchcs bclow <br /> thc planncd footing elevation anJ backfilled H•ilh 2-inch rock. 7'he rock was placec! and compacted wilh <br /> dic tr,ickhoc bucket. Thc soil cxposcd at the bottom of the cxcavation consisted of brown-gray (ine <br /> s:md. <br /> Wc cvaluatcd dic suhgrade by prnbing �t�ith a '/s-inch probe rod under moderate pressure and found that <br /> it was penetralu3 approximately Yz tu 1 inch. We intcrprcled it to he dense. lt is our opinion that the <br /> crushcd rock is wcll compactul. <br /> Wc havc hccn pruviding our constniction munitoring scrvices on a parl limc hasis.
