• <br /> • <br /> • <br /> 1. B-1 Neighborhood Shopping Zone. The purpose of the neighborhood shopping <br /> zone is to: <br /> a. Provide for the day-to-day retail,personal service and convenience <br /> consumer needs of the immediately adjacent residential neighborhoods, rather <br /> than the larger community; and <br /> b. Establish building and development standards which assure that uses, <br /> buildings and structures are appropriately sited, scaled and designed so as to be <br /> compatible with surrounding residential neighborhoods. <br /> 2. B-2 Community Business Zone. The purpose of the community business zone is <br /> to provide for retail businesses and services designed to serve the needs of several <br /> neighborhoods and allow for businesses which are oriented to arterial streets. <br /> 3. B-2(B) Office Zone. The purpose of the office zone is to: <br /> a. Promote and provide areas for a variety of office uses and office park <br /> development, which are constructed, maintained and operated in a manner <br /> designed to be compatible with adjoining residential neighborhoods and other less <br /> intensive land uses. <br /> b. Allow certain community service uses and limited multiple-family <br /> residential use; and <br /> c. Permit a limited type and amount of service businesses oriented to the <br /> surrounding business areas. <br /> 4. C-1 General Commercial Zone. The purpose of the general commercial zone is to <br /> provide for a wide range of retail businesses, consumer and commercial services for the <br /> greater Everett area. <br /> 5. C-1 R Regional Commercial-Office Zone. The purpose of the regional <br /> commercial-office zone is to provide areas for large scale retail businesses oriented to a <br /> regional consumer market, high quality office park development, and related consumer <br /> and business services <br /> 6. B-3 Central Business District Zone. The purpose and function of the central <br /> business district zone is to: <br /> a. Provide a strong central urban focus and identity for the city; <br /> b. Provide a multi-use character of retail, service, financial, office, <br /> governmental, residential, human service and cultural activities; <br /> c. Encourage a pedestrian-oriented environment; <br /> d. Encourage urban design amenities within the downtown core area; and <br /> e. Implement the goals, objectives and policies of the development plan for <br /> Everett's central city as part of the Everett general plan. <br /> 14 <br />
