f. Buildings with a height of more than three stories should be designed as a <br /> slender tower on a wide base. <br /> 5. Patterns of activity: <br /> a. Maximize opportunities for vital, pedestrian-level activity in all areas of the <br /> B-3 zone, particularly in the areas designated on map number 28-4; <br /> b. Provide space for a number of appropriate activities accessible to the public <br /> at large in the B-3 zone, especially at ground level and at main pedestrian <br /> levels; <br /> c. Uses and activities that are nonpublic or non-pedestrian in nature should <br /> not be located adjacent to pedestrian areas. <br /> is hereby amended to read: <br /> Design Review Guidelines for the B-3 Zone. Provide safe walkways for pedestrians and minimize the potential for conflict <br /> with vehicles, especially on public sidewalks and in areas designated as Pedestrian <br /> Oriented Street Frontage by Map # 22-2. <br /> 4. Provide for weather protection from rain through use of covered public sidewalks and <br /> private walkways, multiple building entrances, arcades, and prominent building entrances <br /> of sufficient size and accessibility, especially in areas designated as Pedestrian Oriented <br /> Street Frontage by Map #22-2. <br /> B.
