This <br />element calls for the development of an updated signage program for the Parks system. This includes the <br />development of signage standards for such signs as monument (or park entrance) signs, wayfinding signs, <br />informational and interpretive signage and locational signage at places such as off road trails. At the <br />conclusion of this first phase effort, a five year implementation plan will exist, along with construction <br />specifications, to begin the upgrading program (phase two). <br />Staff will identify the additional amount required and propose a revision to the Parks Signage Improvements <br />funding ordinance prior to initiation of the multi-year phase two project. <br />RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Adopt.the proposed ordinance creating a <br />special improvement project entitled "Parks Signage Improvements," Fund 354, Program 038. <br />39 <br />S:VICommonWdministration\COUNCIU2008\CSParksSignagdmprovements 3-14-08.doc <br />
