This equipment is available from a competitively bid City of <br /> Tacoma contract award. The City has an interlocal cooperative purchasing agreement with Tacoma that <br /> allows us to make purchases from their competitively awarded contracts in lieu of soliciting bids on our own. <br /> Grant funds will cover $153,000 of this purchase and City funds will be used for the remaining balance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the purchase of Globe GXtreme fire <br /> turnout gear from City of Tacoma contract#4600002975 in the amount of$338,041.94 including , 4 <br /> Washington State Sales Tax. <br />
