RESOLUTION NO. 6483 <br />A RESOLUTION that authorizes submitting applications for grant <br />funding assistance for Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program <br />projects to the Recreation and Conservation office as provided in <br />Chapter 79A.15 RCW, Acquisition of habitat conservation and <br />outdoor recreation lands, WAC 286 and subsequent Legislative action <br />WHEREAS, the City of Everett approved a comprehensive parks and recreation plan on May 26, <br />2010 that includes this project (major renovation project number 17); and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Everett approved a new master plan for Senator Henry M. Jackson Park on <br />May 11, 2011; and <br />WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP), <br />state grant assistance is requested to aid in financing the cost of facility development for Senator <br />Henry M. Jackson Park; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Everett considers it in the best public interest to complete the project <br />described in funding applications to the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />EVERETT that: <br />1. The Mayor or his/her designee is authorized to make formal application to the Recreation and <br />Conservation Office for grant assistance. <br />2. Any grant assistance received will be used for direct costs associated with implementation of <br />the project referenced above. <br />3. The City of Everett hereby certifies that its matching share of project funding will be derived <br />from City of Everett funds, and other match eligible funds if made available to the City, and <br />that the City of Everett is responsible for supporting all non -cash commitments to this project <br />should they not materialize. <br />4. The City of Everett acknowledges that the grant assistance, if approved, will be paid on a <br />reimbursement basis, meaning that the City of Everett will only request payment from the <br />Recreation and Conservation Office after eligible and allowable costs have been incurred and <br />payment remitted to the City's vendors, and that the Recreation and Conservation Office will <br />hold Retainage until the project is deemed complete. <br />
