• <br /> Signs located in or on public right-of-way;provided,that awning signs and projecting <br /> signs may extend over public right-of-way if they otherwise conform with this chapter; <br /> and provided further, that certain real estate signs are allowed on the periphery of public <br /> right-of-way pursuant to subsection 36.120.B. <br /> is hereby amended to read: <br /> Signs located in or on public right-of-way;provided, that awning signs and projecting <br /> signs may extend over public right-of-way if they otherwise conform with this chapter; <br /> except as provided by Section 36.130, and provided further,that certain real estate signs <br /> are allowed on the periphery of public right-of-way pursuant to subsection 36.120.B. <br /> Section 3: Section 36.130 or Ordinance#1671-89, as amended, which reads: <br /> Political Signs. Signs,posters or bills promoting or publicizing candidates for public <br /> office or issues that are to be voted upon in a primary, general or special election may be <br /> displayed on private property in accordance with the following restrictions: <br /> A. Time Limitations. Political signs may be placed on private property prior to the <br /> election provided they are maintained in accordance with Subsection 36.060 of this <br /> Section. Obsolete political signs shall be removed within fifteen(15) days following the <br /> election. <br /> B. Prohibited on Public Property. It is unlawful for any person to paste, paint, affix <br /> or fasten any political sign on a utility pole or on any public right-of-way, property, <br /> building or structure. <br /> C. Responsibility for Compliance. It shall be presumed that any violation of this <br /> Subsection was done at the direction and request of the political candidate and/or <br /> campaign director. <br /> D. Size of Political Signs. The maximum permitted sign face for political signs <br /> shall not exceed 2.5 square feet. Such signs shall not be displayed in a manner which <br /> exceeds a maximum of four feet measured from the ground to the lowest portion of the <br /> sign face. <br /> is hereby amended to read: <br /> Political Signs. Political signs shall be displayed in accordance with the following <br /> restrictions: <br /> A. Responsibility for Compliance. It shall be presumed that any violation of this <br /> Subsection was done at the direction and request of the political candidate and/or <br /> campaign director. <br /> 2 <br />
