• ORDINANCE NO. 2074-95 AN ORDINANCE providing for the adoption of the 1994 Editions of the Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code Standards and repealing Ordinance No. 1885-92 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this ordinance serves to protect the public health and safety; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the absence of the regulations adopted by this ordinance would create a public harm and a public nuisance; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the City is mandated by the State to implement and enforce the herein adopted code; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: This ordinance shall be known as the "Everett Plumbing Code." Section 2: The Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code Standards, together with Appendices A, B, C, D and H and the Installation Standards, as published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, as amended by WAC 51-26 and 51-27, being particularly the 1994 Editions thereof and the whole thereof, save and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended are hereby adopted by reference and incorporated herein as fully as if set out at length herein. Section 3: Amendments Made in the Uniform Plumbing Code and the Uniform Plumbing Code Standard. A. The 1991 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is hereby amended by deleting Chapter 12 of the Code in its entirety. B. Notwithstanding any wording in the 1991 Editions of the Uniform Plumbing Code or the Uniform Plumbing Code Standards, neither the Uniform Plumbing Code nor the Uniform Plumbing Code Standards shall apply to the installation of gas piping, water heaters, or vents for water heaters. C. Section 20.2(a) of the 1991 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code is hereby amended by deleting: The Administrative Authority may appoint such assistants, deputies, inspectors or other employees as are authorized to carry out the functions of the department of this Code. and inserting in its place: 1
