4 n <br /> 'u <br /> ■ The Transportation Element directs the development and use of appropriate <br /> design standards and procedures with a greater emphasis on minimizing <br /> person-travel delay, public safety, barrier-free pedestrian oriented <br /> accessibility, while assuring the continued movement of goods; and <br /> WHEREAS, Everett's Transportation Element is consistent with the Complete <br /> Streets guiding principle to design, operate and maintain Everett's streets to <br /> promote safe and convenient access and travel for all users — pedestrians, <br /> bicyclists, transit riders, people of various abilities, as well as freight and motor <br /> vehicle drivers; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF EVERETT THAT: <br /> The Everett City Council finds that Complete Streets program principles have been <br /> incorporated into the City's adopted Transportation Element of the Comprehensive <br /> Plan and, consistent with this, the City will plan, design, maintain and operate the <br /> City's transportation system consistent with the goals, policies and objectives of the <br /> Transportation Element of the Comprehensive Plan with regard to fulfilling the <br /> incorporated Complete Street policy goals. <br /> COUNCILMEMBER INTRODUCING RESOLUTION <br /> PASSED AND APPROVED THIS DAY OF , 2008. <br /> COUNCIL PRESIDENT <br /> 0 <br />
