Complete background research to screen the pipeline route, create a GIS map of known <br /> cultural resources and prepare a report of findings. <br /> 2. Archival research will include the Washington state site inventory and records at the <br /> Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation (DAHP), University of Washington <br /> Libraries, Washington State and Federal Archives. <br /> 3. Other information will be collected from any recent geotechnical work for the project, <br /> ethnographic and historic accounts, previous regional cultural resource investigations, <br /> local historical societies and informants, maps, photographs, and from environmental <br /> sources. <br /> 4. Conduct a reconnaissance survey of the project route to verify field conditions, review <br /> and evaluate the condition of resources and make recommendations regarding the <br /> probability of undiscovered historic properties likely to be affected by the project. <br /> 5. Make recommendations for appropriate methodology to complete the investigation of <br /> historic properties, if needed. <br /> - City Responsibilities <br /> 1. Provide any known related local information from previous projects in the corridor. <br /> Assumptions <br /> 1. Both historic and prehistoric cultural resources will be included in the investigation. <br /> 2.
