•
KL E/NFEL DER
Bright Prople.Night Polu[iont.
ATTACHMENT 1
SCOPE OF WORK
For clarity in invoice management, the task numbers outlined below correspond to the
existing task numbers currently used by Kleinfelder on the Bond Street project.
Task 6 — Project Management: Typical project management tasks including client
and subcontractor coordination, working with counsel, planning, contracting, cost
estimates, and invoicing are included in this task.
Task 7 — Pre-Construction Activities: This task includes preparing a site-specific
health and safety plan, pre-construction activities and meetings, waste profiling,
equipment procurement, excavation layout, and well decommissioning using a
subcontractor prior to remediation activities.
Task 8 — Construction Observation: This task will be for on-site observation,
oversight, sampling, and management during construction activities scheduled to begin
in August 2008, including intermittent observation of backfilling activities for compactive
effort and placement of ballast to stabilize the base of dewatered excavation areas.
This task includes weekly project manager site visits.
Kleinfelder will oversee and document the removal of the contaminated soil from the
areas shown in the bid specifications. In addition, Kleinfelder will collect post-
excavation soil samples for laboratory analysis, and will field-screen soils and direct the
contractor to segregate soil based on the segregation plan. This task includes the
following activities:
• Oversee and observe removal of contaminated soil from the areas indicated in
the bid specifications. Soil in the excavation will be visually examined for
indications of contamination and soil lithology. Soil will be screened and
segregated for waste disposal using an x-ray fluorescence analyzer (XRF) to
determine lead levels, and visual and obvious olfactory observations. Detailed
notes regarding each days activities, truck counts, and site personnel will be kept
by the Kleinfelder representative and reported to the City's Construction Manager
and Project Manager daily.
• Collect soil samples for chemical analysis at the limits of the excavation for
analysis of cPAHs by EPA Method 8270C/SIM with low detection limits, TPH in
62398/SEA8P134R1.doc Page 1 of 4 June 4,2008
Copyright 2008 Kleinfelder
