(MSA) to provide the required design <br /> engineering services for the Portal 4&6 Area Improvements Project. Improvements include replacement of valves and <br /> valve operators, a precast concrete access vault,pipeline corrosion control coatings,and relocation of the electrical <br /> system for a valving facility within the City of Everett Water System. <br /> NOTE: The Bidder's proposal for 36”pipe coating(#4) and 96"pipe coating(#5)state the total amount in <br /> words but the unit price in figures. The Bid Schedule requests the bidder to state the unit price in words. Since the <br /> unit price of$8/SF in#4 and$7/SF in#5 is consistent with total amount bid,it is recommended that the low Bidder's <br /> error in stating the total amount for the item, rather than the unit price in writing,be waived and the bid be accepted <br /> on the basis of the unit price of$8/SF for item 4 and$7/SF for item 5. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Waive the low Bidder's error and Award a contract with Razz Construction, Inc., for the Portal 4&6 Area <br /> Improvements Project in the amount of$513,786.60. <br />
