EVERETT CITY COUNCIL PRELIMINARY AGENDA 8:30 A.M., WEDNESDAY, JULY 23, 2008 CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS 3002 WETMORE AVENUE EVERETT, WA Roll Call Pledge of Allegiance Approval of Minutes: July 16, 2008 Mayor's Comments Council Comments City Attorney Citizen Comments CONSENT ITEMS: (1) Adopt Resolution No. authorizing claims against the city of Everett in the amount of $6,801,434.68 for the period of July 5, 2008 through July 11, 2008 (2) Adopt Resolution No. authorizing payroll claims against the city of Everett in the amount of $3,380,952.74 for the period ending July 5, 2008 (3) To approve the closure of Norton Avenue, 33rd to 35th Street, for a Block Party on August 23, 2008, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., sponsored by the Norton Avenue Neighbors with the condition that personnel be on site and prepared to accommodate emergency vehicle access in the event of an emergency (4) To approve the closure of the 2100 block of Lombard for a Block Watch Party on August 17, 2008, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., sponsored by the Lombard Block Watch group with the condition that personnel be on site and prepared to accommodate emergency vehicle access in the event of an emergency ACTION ITEMS: (to be considered individually) (5) Award Bid 2008-060 for the purchase of up to 35 bus shelters from LNI Custom Manufacturing in the amount of $164,859.80 including Washington State Sales Tax (6) Authorize the Mayor to sign the 2060 Housing Trust Funds contract with Senior Services of Snohomish County for purchase of the Silver Lake Cottages and the additional documents, as approve by the city attorney, necessary to implement the contract (7) CB 0807-29 — 3rd and final Reading — Adopt the Proposed Ordinance granting a cable television franchise to Verizon Northwest, Inc.
