The project replaces approximately 1,500 linear feet of deteriorated <br />combined sewer trunk mains and approximately 30 residential side sewer connections. The existing trunk <br />main is approximately 100 years old, moderately deteriorated and subject to possible failure. This project <br />will decrease the risk of failure and provide improved reliability of the system. <br />In addition, approximately 900 linear feet of new sewer pipes will be constructed by this project that will be <br />utilized by the proposed Bond Street Control Facility which is scheduled to be constructed in 2011. <br />Construction bids were received from twelve contractors on July 22, 2008, and a summary bid tabulation is <br />attached. The low bid amount is $2,614,900.05 from G. G. Excavation Inc., Anacortes, and the Engineers <br />Estimate was $3.4 million. Construction would occur from September 2008 through June 2009. <br />RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br />Award bid and Authorize Mayor to sign a contract with G. G.
