!/E?ETT <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1 / <br /> AN ORDINANCE relating to the Council of Neighborhoods, allowing for two <br /> representatives from each neighborhood organization on the Council of <br /> Neighborhoods, amending section 5 of Ordinance No. 1682-90 (EMC <br /> 2.30.050). <br /> WHEREAS, the number of recognized neighborhoods has steadily increased since the <br /> Council of Neighborhoods was established in 1990; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Everett City Council deems it necessary to allow for two <br /> representatives from each recognized neighborhood on the Council of Neighborhoods, <br /> in order to assure that each neighborhood has proper representation. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: Section 5 of Ordinance No. 1682-90 (EMC 2.30.050), which reads as <br /> follows: <br /> Council of Neighborhoods Established. There is hereby established the <br /> Council of Neighborhoods which shall be composed of not to exceed twenty- <br /> five (25) members. The terms of the members shall be in accordance with <br /> Section 5.2 of the Charter of the City. The Council shall be a duly recognized <br /> advisory board pursuant to Chapter 2.76 EMC and shall be advisory to the <br /> Mayor. The responsibilities of the Council shall include but not be limited to <br /> the following: <br /> A. To make recommendations concerning the tools and resources <br /> need for planning and development of the various neighborhoods; <br /> B. To make recommendation concerning plans, regulations and <br /> programs needed to suit the diverse character and development patterns of <br /> the various neighborhoods; <br /> C. To make recommendations concerning inter-city departmental <br /> responses to neighborhood problems and concerns; <br /> D. To encourage constructive settlement of disputes involving <br /> neighborhood groups, the City and prospective land use applicants; <br /> E. To make recommendations as to the budget for the Office of <br /> Neighborhoods; and <br /> F. To perform such other advisory tasks as may be prescribed by the <br /> Mayor. <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> Council of Neighborhoods Established. There is hereby established the <br /> Council of Neighborhoods which shall be composed of not to exceed two <br /> representatives from each neighborhood.
